Ingredients

The cake

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • as directed N/A oil, eggs and water
  • N/A N/A cooking spray

The coconut sauce

  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 15 large marshmallows
  • 3 cups flaked sweetened coconut
  • ¾ teaspoon cornstarch

The frosting

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • tablespoons cocoa powder, sifted
  • tablespoons milk
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven and coat a 9"x13" pan with cooking spray.
  2. 2. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake.
  3. 3. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  4. 4. For the coconut sauce, combine milk, sugar, and marshmallows in a saucepan and cook until melted.
  5. 5. Stir in coconut and cornstarch, bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
  6. 6. Pour the warm coconut sauce over the cooled cake and let it cool completely.
  7. 7. For the frosting, melt butter in a saucepan, then add sugar, milk, and cocoa, cooking until combined.
  8. 8. Remove from heat, stir in powdered sugar and vanilla, then pour over the cake.
  9. 9. Add sprinkles on top while the frosting is still warm.
