Ingredients

Maple BBQ Sauce/Marinade

  • cup gluten free BBQ sauce
  • 3 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ to 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
  • to taste sea salt and pepper

For the Pan/Skillet

  • 8 ounces gluten free tempeh
  • cup maple BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients for the maple BBQ sauce in a bowl and whisk together.
  2. Heat oil in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sliced or crumbled tempeh to the pan and sear for 3-5 minutes on each side until crispy.
  4. Add the BBQ sauce to the pan, covering the tempeh, and mix thoroughly.
  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the sauce on the tempeh.
  6. Serve over salad, gluten-free grain, or in a sandwich or wrap.
