Rum Bundt Cake

Ingredients

The cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
  • ½ cup rum
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • ½ cup water

The glaze

  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ cup rum
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 325ºF.
  2. 2. Mix all cake ingredients with an electric mixer for five minutes.
  3. 3. Grease and lightly flour a bundt pan.
  4. 4. Bake the cake for one hour.
  5. 5. Meanwhile, combine the glaze ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  6. 6. When the cake comes out of the oven, pour one-third of the glaze mixture into the bottom of the cake.
  7. 7. Let the cake sit for 30 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack.
  8. 8. Paint a layer of glaze over the cake and let it harden.
  9. 9. Repeat painting additional layers until all the glaze is used.
