Ingredients

The meatballs

  • 24 ounces ground beef substitute (Beyond Beef)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

The sweet and spicy sauce

  • 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 small onion (quartered)
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • ¼ cup hot chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup water
  • to taste scallions (for garnish)
  • to taste sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine the meatball ingredients in a bowl and shape into small meatballs.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and sauté the meatballs until browned, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same pan, sauté onion and bell peppers, then add the sauce ingredients and simmer until thickened.
  4. Return the meatballs to the pan and coat them with the sauce before serving.
