Rhubarb Tart

Ingredients

  • 4 stalks rhubarb, washed and trimmed
  • 10 pieces strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • ½ cup muscovado sugar
  • ½ piece lemon (juice of half)
  • 1 tablespoon kirsch or another liqueur

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the rhubarb lengthwise in half, and cut into 3-inch (8cm) bâtons.
  3. Mix the rhubarb with the strawberries and remaining ingredients in a baking dish.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until the fruit is soft.
  5. Remove the foil, reduce the heat to 325°F, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
