Ingredients

The smoothie base

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk or water
  • 10 ounces frozen strawberries, thawed for 5 to 10 minutes
  • 1 ½ cups frozen bananas
  • ¼ cup almond butter

Optional boosters

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender, starting with the almond milk.
  2. Blend on low until the mixture gains traction, then increase to the highest speed.
  3. If needed, stop to scrape down the sides and add more milk for blending ease.
  4. Once smooth, taste and add maple syrup for sweetness if desired.
  5. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
