Garlic Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes

Heavy Cream

finely grated or shredded Parmesan Reggiano

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Peel and slice the potatoes into ⅛ inch thick slices and soak in cold water for 10 minutes.
- Drain and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
- Coat a baking dish with butter and layer a third of the onions at the bottom.
- Layer half of the potatoes on top, season with salt, pepper, and half of the thyme.
- Pour half of the cream over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the garlic and parmesan.
- Add another third of the onions and the second layer of potatoes, seasoning again.
- Pour the remaining cream over the top, add the remaining onions, garlic, and parmesan.
- Scatter butter cubes over the top, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 25 minutes, then broil for 5 minutes for a golden top.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
