Lemon-Parmesan Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp

Ingredients

The pasta

  • 12 oz dry angel hair pasta

The shrimp

  • 1 1/4 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp

The sauce

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan

Seasoning and herbs

  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and continue to sauté until the shrimp are cooked through, about 2 minutes longer.
  5. Toss the drained pasta with the shrimp, reserved pasta water, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  6. Add fresh herbs and sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.
