Ingredients

Cream Puff Base

  • 5 tablespoons salted butter
  • cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Strawberries

  • 2-3 cups sliced, fresh strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a saucepan, boil the butter, water, and sugar.
  3. Add flour all at once, stirring until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time until shiny.
  6. Spread the mixture in the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Prick the baked shell and return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  8. Cool the shell completely.
  9. For the filling, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar, orange zest, vanilla, and whipping cream.
  10. Whip until thick and creamy.
  11. Spread the filling over the cooled shell and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  12. Combine strawberries and sugar, letting them sit for 5-10 minutes.
  13. Serve by piling strawberries on top of the cake.
