Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare two 8-inch cake pans with butter and flour.
- In a medium bowl, lightly stir the eggs and then whisk in the remaining liquid ingredients.
- In a stand mixer, combine all the dry ingredients and mix well before adding the wet ingredients.
- Mix the batter on medium-high until fully combined, then divide it equally into the prepared pans.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans before transferring them to wire racks.
- While cooling, prepare the frosting by creaming together the butter and cream cheese, then adding vanilla and powdered sugar to your desired consistency.
- Once the cakes are cool, frost them, starting with a crumb coat and then decorating with roses as desired.
