Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 10-inch baking dish.
- Remove the tops of the strawberries and slice them into quarters or halves.
- Place the strawberries in the baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cornstarch together.
- In another bowl, combine the water, lemon juice, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet and dry mixtures over the strawberries and mix well.
- Spread the strawberries evenly in the dish.
- For the crumble, combine all crumble ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Use a hand mixer to mix until the butter resembles peas or coarse sand.
- Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the strawberries, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
- Bake for 40 minutes until the crumble is lightly golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
