Ingredients

The cake

The topping

  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 6 tablespoons white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

The maple glaze

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a square baking dish.
  2. Mix the butter, brown sugar, pumpkin, and eggs until smooth, then add the flour, baking powder, salt, and spices, mixing until just combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. For the topping, combine all topping ingredients and crumble them together until fine crumbs form, then sprinkle over the cake.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, checking that the middle is set.
  6. For the glaze, melt the butter and mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and maple syrup until smooth, then drizzle over the cake.
