Salsa Roja Ingredients

roma tomatoes, quartered

Instructions
- Mix masa harina and salt in a bowl, then add warm water and olive oil to form a dough.
- Prepare your fillings, sautéing shallots until golden if using.
- Divide the dough into eight equal balls.
- Flatten each ball into a cup shape and add your desired filling.
- Fold the edges around the filling to encase it, then flatten into a disk about ½ inch thick.
- Heat oil in a skillet and cook each pupusa for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Keep warm in the oven until ready to serve.
