Instructions
- Coat the flank steak with cornstarch in a resealable bag.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over high heat.
- Cook the meat in a single layer, seasoning with salt and pepper, for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
- Remove the meat and place it on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Add garlic and ginger to the pan and cook briefly.
- Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, water, and brown sugar in the pan and bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the sauce, boiling until thickened.
- Return the meat and green onions to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Serve over rice if desired.
