Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pounds frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ⅓ cups whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Arrange the thawed hash browns in the bottom of the baking dish and dot with the remaining tablespoon of butter.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the hash browns and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
