Ingredients

The filling

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth or turkey stock
  • ½ cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 12 oz frozen mixed peas and carrots
  • 12 oz frozen cauliflower florets
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2-3 cups cooked turkey, diced

The topping

  • 16 oz can of biscuits or homemade biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Melt butter in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat, then add onion and celery, sautéing until soft.
  3. Add garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Reduce heat and slowly whisk in chicken broth, breaking up any clumps.
  6. Add frozen vegetables, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring regularly.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in milk and cooked turkey, adjusting thickness with more broth if necessary.
  8. Top the mixture with biscuit dough evenly.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
