Ingredients

The cocktail mix

  • ½ cup lime juice
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar
  • 6 ounces tequila
  • 4 ounces pomegranate juice
  • pinch salt
  • ice
  • sparkling water

Optional garnishes

  • turbinado sugar
  • lime wedges or slices
  • pomegranate seeds (arils)

Instructions

  1. Combine lime juice, orange juice, honey, tequila, pomegranate juice, and salt in a jar or pitcher and stir well.
  2. Optionally, sugar the rims of the glasses by wetting them with lime juice and dipping them in turbinado sugar.
  3. Fill each glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the margarita mixture into each glass.
  5. Top off each glass with sparkling water and garnish with lime slices and pomegranate seeds.
