Instructions
- Whisk together pumpkin, maple syrup, cocoa powder, pie spice, and salt in a pot to form a thick paste.
- Heat the mixture over medium-low and whisk in the milk and chocolate chips.
- Stir until hot and just simmering, but do not boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, adjusting sweetness if necessary.
- Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream if desired.
