Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz), at room temperature
  • cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • cups unbleached all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Blend butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add sugar and salt, and whip until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in eggs one at a time, adding vanilla with the last egg.
  5. Add flour and mix until just combined.
  6. Prepare a bundt or tube pan by greasing and dusting with flour.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 20 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
