Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a casserole dish.
- 2. Boil water with salt, add macaroni, and cook until al dente, about 6 minutes. Drain and do not rinse.
- 3. In the same pot, melt 6 tablespoons of butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
- 4. Whisk in hot milk and bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in cheeses until melted.
- 5. Fold in the macaroni and season with salt and hot sauce. Pour into the casserole dish.
- 6. Melt the remaining butter, stir in garlic, and mix in breadcrumbs until coated.
- 7. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the macaroni and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbling and browned.
