Ingredients

The scones

The glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon maple extract
  • 2 tablespoons cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, pumpkin pie spice, and cinnamon.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small chunks and mix it into the dry ingredients until you have pebble-sized pieces.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: cream, vanilla, egg, and pumpkin.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients gently using a fork until a cohesive dough forms.
  6. Pat the dough into a round shape about 1 inch thick and cut it into 6 wedges.
  7. Place the wedges on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While the scones cool, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, maple extract, and cream until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled scones.
