Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Cream together the sugar and butter until well combined.
- Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla, then add the molasses and milk.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- Roll the dough out to 1/4-inch thickness between parchment paper and chill briefly.
- Cut into shapes and transfer to a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 8 minutes until slightly set, then cool on a wire rack.
- Prepare the icing by mixing powdered sugar, meringue powder, water, and vanilla until glossy.
- Decorate the cooled cookies with icing and let set.
