Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 4 medium Potatoes, sliced thin

The seasonings

  • ¾ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Dehydrated Onions
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh Thyme Leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg

The cheese

  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded
  • cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded

The liquid

  • 1 cup Half and Half

Optional

  • 1 cup Diced Cooked Ham

Instructions

  1. Layer sliced potatoes in a dish and sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.
  2. Repeat layering with more potatoes and spices.
  3. Sprinkle half of the parmesan cheese on top.
  4. Add another layer of potatoes and repeat the spices.
  5. Sprinkle half of the Monterey Jack and sharp cheddar cheeses on top.
  6. Add the final layer of potatoes and repeat the spices and add nutmeg.
  7. Pour half and half over the layers until it just peeks through.
  8. Top with remaining Monterey Jack and sharp cheddar cheeses.
  9. Add water to the Instant Pot and place the dish on a trivet inside.
  10. Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 40 minutes.
  11. Release the steam and check for doneness.
  12. If broiling, sprinkle remaining parmesan and broil until golden.
