Spiced Oat Milk Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups oat milk
  • 2 pieces cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 6 pieces cardamom pods, smashed
  • 10 pieces whole cloves, smashed
  • 1 inch piece ginger, halved
  • 1/16 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup freshly brewed hot espresso coffee
  • to taste none ground cinnamon for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oat milk with cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, whole cloves, ginger, and salt in a saucepan over low-medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  2. Brew the espresso or dark coffee while the oat milk is heating.
  3. Strain the oat milk through a fine-mesh strainer to separate the spices.
  4. Whisk the strained milk vigorously until frothy.
  5. Pour the brewed espresso into a mug and then add the frothed milk on top.
  6. Dust with ground cinnamon and gently stir to create a swirl design if desired.
