Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add butter and half of the buttermilk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix on low for one minute.
- Slowly add the remaining buttermilk mixture while mixing, then increase speed to medium and mix for 3 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and tap to release air bubbles.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then poke holes in the bottom with a skewer.
- Spoon the butter rum syrup over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- Let the cake cool for about 30 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
- Brush the outside of the cake with reserved butter rum syrup.
