The Biscuits

apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400℉ and prepare a baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Slice the green onions, separating the white/light green parts from the dark green parts.
- In a skillet, heat oil and sauté mushrooms, sausage, and the white/light green parts of the green onions for 7-10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, ¾ cup cheese, garlic powder, and salt; stir in the reserved dark green onions.
- Cut cold butter into the dry ingredients until crumbly, then add milk and vinegar to form a soft dough.
- Once the sausage is browned, sprinkle flour over it and mix well.
- Gradually add chicken broth and then milk, stirring until thickened.
- Pour the gravy into the baking dish and top with mounds of biscuit dough.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then add remaining cheese and flaky salt, and bake for an additional 12-15 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
