Ingredients

The hot chocolate

  • 28 grams unsweetened chocolate chips
  • cup hot water
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 cups unsweetened almond milk

The whipped cream

  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon zero calorie sweetener

Instructions

  1. Heat a saucepan or Dutch oven on medium-high heat and add the chocolate chips.
  2. Allow the chips to melt for about 1 minute, then add the hot water, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sweetener.
  3. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until the chocolate chips have melted, then add in the vanilla and stir.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add in the almond milk, whisking until the hot chocolate reaches your desired temperature.
  5. Serve in mugs.
  6. For the whipped cream, add the whipping cream to a mixing bowl and mix for 2 minutes.
  7. Add in the sweetener and mix until whipped cream forms.
