Ingredients

The cake

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

The frosting

  • 1 cup vegan chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and whisk until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, frost the cake.
