Ingredients

The salmon

  • 4 fillets skin-on center-cut salmon fillets, fresh or frozen, 3/4 to 1-inch thick

The seasoning

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried herbs of choice (optional)
  • 4 slices thin lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add water to the Instant Pot and place the trivet inside.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and arrange them in a single layer on the trivet.
  3. Sprinkle the salmon with salt, pepper, and any herbs, then lay a lemon slice on each fillet.
  4. Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 1 minute if fresh, or 4 minutes if frozen.
  5. Once cooking is complete, manually vent the pressure and check the salmon's temperature.
  6. Serve hot with additional salt and pepper to taste.
