Blueberry Margaritas

Ingredients

The margarita mixture

  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 3 ounces freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 5 ounces blanco/silver tequila
  • 2 ounces Grand Marnier or Cointreau (or any orange liqueur)
  • to taste none agave nectar (optional)

For serving

  • to taste none ice
  • 1 none lime wedge (optional)
  • to taste none salt (optional for rimming the glass)

Instructions

  1. Blend blueberries and lime juice until smooth, or muddle them together in a jar.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a cocktail shaker, discarding the pulp.
  3. Add tequila and orange liqueur to the shaker and stir to combine.
  4. If desired, rim glasses with lime and dip in salt.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and pour in the margarita mixture. Serve immediately.
