Creamy Mushroom Sauce Pasta

Ingredients

The sauce

  • 3 tbsp garlic herb butter
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium white onion, diced
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cloves black garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ lbs cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp minced onion flakes
  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • cup heavy cream
  • cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

The pasta

  • 3 cups long fusilli pasta

Instructions

  1. Melt garlic herb butter and unsalted butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Once bubbling, add white onion, garlic, and black garlic, and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add cremini mushrooms and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  4. Stir in lemon juice, salt, minced onion, cracked black pepper, and chili flakes, cooking for another 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream, stir, and bring to a light boil.
  6. Incorporate parmesan cheese while stirring until melted.
  7. Allow the sauce to reduce and thicken for 6-8 minutes.
  8. Prepare long fusilli according to package instructions, rinse, and strain.
  9. Combine pasta with the sauce and mix thoroughly.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
