Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In a stand mixer, blend the melted butter, brown sugar, and molasses until combined, then mix in the egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking dish and bake for 14 to 17 minutes.
- Allow the bars to cool completely on a wire rack.
- For the frosting, cream together the butter and cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled bars and cut into squares.
