Instructions
- Heat the milk until scalded and mix with butter, sugar, and salt until melted.
- Let the mixture cool, then stir in the yeast and let it rest until foamy.
- Add the egg and gradually mix in flour until the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes, then let it rise until doubled in size.
- Prepare the caramel by melting butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt, then whisk in cream and vanilla off the heat.
- Spread the caramel mixture in a baking pan and sprinkle pecans on top.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon before rolling it up.
- Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in the pan over the caramel.
- Cover and let the rolls rise until puffy, then bake until golden.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before flipping the buns onto a serving tray.
