Instructions
- Mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl, then create a well in the center.
- Add the egg and lukewarm water, mix by hand, and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
- Butter a 12-cup muffin tin and heat the maple syrup, sugar, butter, salt, and milk in a saucepan until melted.
- Divide the pecans and maple mixture among the muffin cups.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 balls, and place each in a muffin cup.
- Cover with oiled plastic wrap and let rise for 30-45 minutes until doubled.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the buns for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the muffin tin onto a cooling rack and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
