Instructions
- Break up the leftover rice to prevent clumping.
- Toast the belacan in a wok over low heat until dry and aromatic.
- Fry an egg until well-done and set aside.
- Blend the shallot, garlic, red chili, and toasted belacan into a paste.
- Heat oil in a wok and stir-fry the blended paste until aromatic.
- Add the rice to the wok and mix well with the flavoring paste.
- Stir in kecap manis and palm sugar, and continue to stir-fry until well blended.
- Serve the nasi goreng topped with the fried egg.
