Easy Potato Gratin

Ingredients

The potatoes

  • 2 large potatoes

The sauce

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

The topping

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice the potatoes thinly and cover them with water in a bowl. Microwave for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 410°F (200°C). Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add flour and gradually stir in the milk until smooth.
  3. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese, then add the potato slices and stir to coat.
  4. Transfer the coated potatoes to a baking dish, pour the remaining sauce over them, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
