Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease the baking dish.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish and add the sliced onions.
- Sprinkle with half of the salt and pepper, all of the flour, and half of the butter and cheese.
- Add the remaining potatoes and top with the remaining salt, pepper, butter, and cheese.
- Pour the milk and cream over the top.
- Place a sheet of foil or a baking sheet on the bottom rack to catch any overflow.
- Bake for 40 to 60 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender.
- Cool for five minutes before serving.
