Scalloped Potato Gratin

The sauce

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Spray an 11 x 7-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes, melted butter, salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Arrange half of the potato slices in the baking dish and top with 1/4 cup of cheese.
- Add the remaining potato slices on top.
- In a small saucepan, bring the milk, thyme, bay leaf, and nutmeg to a boil; then pour over the potatoes.
- Top with the remaining cheese and bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
