Orange Dark Chocolate Chip Scones

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and set an oven rack in the top third.
- Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small dish, mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1 tablespoon of orange juice to create a glaze.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, ¼ cup sugar, remaining orange juice, orange zest, vanilla extract, and the egg until combined.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
- Flour a clean surface and knead the dough lightly four times.
- Shape the dough into an 8-inch circle about ¾ inch thick on the baking sheet and cut into 10 wedges without slicing all the way through.
- Brush the orange glaze over the top of the scones and bake for 18-20 minutes.
