Chocolate Buttercream

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Sift together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, coffee, and buttermilk for 2 minutes.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing for an additional 2 minutes.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until well incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 35-40 minutes.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 15 minutes, then transfer to racks to cool completely.
- For the buttercream, chop the chocolates and set aside.
- Heat heavy cream and corn syrup in a saucepan, then pour over the chopped chocolate.
- Whisk until smooth and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Beat the chocolate mixture and gradually add butter until thick and silky.
- Trim the tops of the cooled cake layers, layer with buttercream, and frost the entire cake.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate before serving.
