Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

The potatoes and ham

Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced about ¼-inch thick

chopped fully cooked ham

cheddar cheese or parmesan cheese, to sprinkle on top
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onions, garlic, and thyme until fragrant.
- Add cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg to the skillet and bring to a boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and optionally discard the onions and thyme.
- Add sliced potatoes to the cream mixture and simmer until almost tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, layering with ham and sprinkling cheese on top.
- Bake until bubbling and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
