Ingredients

The salad

  • 16 ounces cavatappi pasta
  • 1 pound cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 pound mini mozzarella balls
  • cup pitted and chopped kalamata olives
  • cup fresh basil, sliced thin
  • to taste flaky salt and pepper

The dressing

  • 1 recipe balsamic vinaigrette

Instructions

  1. Make the balsamic vinaigrette according to the recipe.
  2. Cook the cavatappi according to package directions until al dente, then drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Transfer the drained pasta to a bowl and add the tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and kalamata olives.
  4. Toss the pasta mixture with the desired amount of dressing.
  5. Serve at room temperature or refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. Top with fresh basil, flaky salt, and freshly ground black pepper just before serving.
