Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 lb raw 99% lean ground turkey breast
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, shredded
  • 1 medium zucchini, shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 24 oz jar pasta sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • 10 oz dry wheat spaghetti, broken in half

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it into pieces.
  3. Stir in chopped onion, shredded carrots, zucchini, and minced garlic; cook until softened.
  4. Add chicken broth, tomato sauce, pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, and basil; stir well.
  5. Incorporate the broken spaghetti, ensuring it's covered by the sauce.
  6. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a boil.
  7. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes to thicken before serving.
