Sunday Night Gnocchi Bolognese Bake

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add onions and carrots, season with salt and pepper, and cook until softened.
- Add the ground beef and garlic, cooking until the beef is browned.
- Stir in the tomatoes, wine, and milk, then add the bay leaf and oregano, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Stir in the gnocchi and 1/3 cup of water, bring to a boil, and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, discard the bay leaf and oregano, top with cheese, and bake for 15 minutes until bubbling and melted.
- Top with fresh basil before serving.
