Bacon + Sausage + Marinara Baked Gnocchi

Instructions
- 1. Cook the chopped bacon in a large sauté pan over medium heat until crisp and dark brown, about 10-12 minutes, then transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate.
- 2. Discard excess liquids from the pan, then cook the hot Italian sausage in the same pan for 5-7 minutes until cooked through, and transfer to the plate with the bacon.
- 3. Add olive oil to the pan, then add the chopped onion and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened, stirring occasionally.
- 4. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 5. Stir in the marinara sauce, then add the bacon and sausage back into the pan along with sugar and crushed red pepper. Allow to simmer.
- 6. Boil the gnocchi according to package instructions, about 2-3 minutes, then drain and add to the sauce mixture.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- 8. Remove the pan from heat, mix in the chopped herbs and parmesan, then layer half of the gnocchi and sauce in a baking dish, topping with mozzarella.
- 9. Add the remaining gnocchi and sauce, then top with the remaining mozzarella.
- 10. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, then broil for an additional 5 minutes for a bubbly top.
- 11. Serve hot and enjoy.
