Spanish Sangria

Instructions
- Make syrup by dissolving sugar in water over low heat until clear, then let it cool.
- Wash the orange and lemon, cut off the rind, and squeeze out their juice.
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, syrup, orange juice, lemon juice, and whisky. Stir well.
- Add the cinnamon stick and pieces of orange and lemon rind, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Serve the sangria cold in a glass with apple and peach slices, topping off with lemon soda or sparkling water if desired.
