Ground Tofu Taco Meat

The sauce

ounces
tomato sauce

vegetable broth
Instructions
- Press the drained block of tofu for at least 10 minutes to remove excess water.
- Grate the pressed tofu using a cheese grater into tiny pieces.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and drizzle with oil.
- Add the ground tofu and soy sauce to the skillet, cooking for 8 to 10 minutes until it starts to brown.
- Stir in the taco seasonings and sauté for 30 seconds to bloom the spices.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the tomato sauce and vegetable broth.
- Simmer for 5 to 6 minutes until the sauce is reduced and the tofu is beginning to brown.
- For firmer tofu, continue simmering for an additional 5 minutes or increase the heat.
