Unadon (Unagi Donburi)

Ingredients

The main ingredients

  • 1 fillet Frozen Unagi Kabayaki
  • 4 tbsp Unagi sauce
  • 3 cups Cooked rice

Garnishes

  • 2 tbsp Shredded nori seaweed (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Finely chopped scallions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Defrost the frozen unagi kabayaki fillet at room temperature and halve the fillet.
  2. Place the unagi fillets in a frying pan skin side down over medium heat and sprinkle 1 tbsp sake over the fillets.
  3. Cover the pan and steam-cook the fillets for about 3 minutes.
  4. Serve rice in a donburi bowl and brush with unagi sauce.
  5. Place the unagi fillets over the rice and pour more unagi sauce over the fillets.
  6. Sprinkle shredded nori seaweed and garnish with finely chopped scallions to serve.
