Ingredients

The polenta

  • 4 cups water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup coarse polenta

The toppings

  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • ½ cup dried fruit
  • to taste honey
  • to taste cream

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Stir in the salt and polenta, then reduce the heat.
  3. Simmer for 30-35 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. If the polenta thickens too much, add more water as needed.
  5. Serve warm topped with almonds, dried fruit, honey, and cream.
