Yellow Cupcakes with Homemade Frosting

Instructions
- 1. Line a cupcake pan with 20 paper liners and preheat the oven to 350°F.
- 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, and salt.
- 3. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg yolks, and vanilla.
- 4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar until creamy, then add the flour and milk mixtures alternately while mixing.
- 5. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites with 1 tablespoon sugar until fluffy, then gently fold into the batter.
- 6. Divide the batter into the cupcake liners and bake for 22 to 24 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 7. Let cool completely before frosting.
